The kingdom conflict is a reality that cannot be escaped.

Spiritual warfare is not only an inevitability for us, but a privilege. Jesus our Lord has come and defeated Satan through His life, death and resurrection. Yet there remains a battle between the two kingdoms for several reasons. First, though Satan was defeated, he was not annihilated. He has no legal right to anything any more, but he has been left around to deceive those who choose not to trust Jesus as King.

Secondly, the world system that Satan legally ruled for so long continues to operate under the programming he installed and will do so until the consummation of the kingdom of God when there will be final destruction of Satan’s kingdom and full redemption for God’s creation.

Thirdly, the reality of Satan and his constant attempt to deceive and then destroy the believer necessitates faith and dependence on Jesus as a daily experience for us.

Christians need not and must not fear the devil. Our attention and admiration is reserved for our King only - Christ Jesus our Lord, but we are aware that Satan walks about seeking those who he might destroy. Those who give Satan ground through unbelief (they believe something other than the truth) are not only victimized by him but used by him to cause conflict, controversy and misery among men.

There aren’t two gods in the world vying for the throne. The devil does not arbitrarily do what he wants. There is one God who is sovereign and ultimately ruler and concludes all issues. Yet God has allowed, yea, placed us in the privileged position to enforce and realize the victory of Jesus as we go through the earth proclaiming and demonstrating the superiority of the present kingdom of God and eagerly awaiting the coming again of the King to this earth to consummate His victory at Calvary.

Everywhere we go, we must expect to encounter the expression of the kingdom of darkness. We can’t run from it. We can extinguish the darkness with the light. We are not the "hunted." We are the "hunter." The gates of hell will not prevail against the church which is going forth as the expression of the kingdom of God.
