The JESUS Film Project distributes the film "JESUS," a two-hour docudrama about the life of Christ based on the Gospel of Luke. The film has been seen in every country of the world and translated into hundreds of languages since its initial release in 1979. Their goal is to reach every nation, tribe, people and tongue, helping them see and hear the story of Jesus in a language they can understand. Whether a person speaks Swahili, French, or a language whose name is extremely difficult for most to pronounce, he or she will encounter the life and message of Jesus in a language "of the heart."
Many mission experts have acclaimed the "JESUS" film as one of the greatest evangelistic success stories of all time. The ultimate success of this project won't be measured by how many people have already seen it, but by how many will follow Him after seeing this film.
Through use by The JESUS Film Project, and more than 1,500 Christian agencies, this powerful film has had more than 5 billion viewings worldwide since 1979. On top of that, the great majority of those heard the story of Jesus in a language they easily understood.
As a result, more than 197 million people have indicated decisions to accept Christ as their personal Savior and Lord.
Ministry Update, May 2008:
Three years ago, the JESUS Film Project moved its headquarters from California to Orlando, Florida. Our Colorado office was allowed to stay until its lease ran out. In December I was notfied that the function of my office in Colorado Springs was being moved to Orlando, and as a result, all of my staff would be challenged to move to Orlando or seek other opportunities within the JESUS Film Project. A member of The JESUS Film Project executive leadership team asked immediate permission from my supervisor to speak with me and invite Marilyn and me to stay in Colorado and represent The JESUS Film Project in the Rocky Mountain region.
We feel very privileged to be asked and to now represent this wonderful ministry in this region.
Our new expanded responsibilities are to connect people and churches with the many opportunities within The JESUS Film Project, from recruiting for full-time staff, to short-term trips, to involvement in the latest worldwide strategies to help accelerate the Great Commission.
Summer Travels:
As part of our new responsibilities, Marilyn and I have been asked to help lead a trip with some ministry partners to Malawi and Zambia from June 18 to July 5, 2008. Malawi and Zambia are landlocked countries north of Mozambique and south of Tanzania. This will be winter time in southern Africa and should be pleasant and dry. Our purpose is to help show the JESUS film in several locations, speak in churches and other venues, and conduct some seminars for the business community in the capital cities. We will be working with the local national staff to set up these meetings. There will be eight of us on the trip from Washington, New Mexico and Colorado.
Marilyn and I are so grateful for your partnership with us in ministry! We are very excited about the direction God is leading us with The JESUS Film Project....We are trusting God that many will be led into His kingdom as a direct result of our involvement.
Prayer Requests:
* Thank you for your many words of encouragement with the recent home-going of my mother.
* Pray for our two sons as they move to Australia from New Zealand for the next few months.
* Pray for our trip to Africa - for travel, health and ministry.
